Work has commenced on the next phase of infrastructure improvements at the Kingston Twin Ovals AFL ground.
The Kingborough Tigers Football Club continue their ongoing program of facility improvements at the Kingston Twin Ovals.
Project manager Dennis Fuller confirmed, “all is on schedule for completion prior to the Tigers first home game when they play last year’s premiers North Launceston on Saturday, March 30.”
The project involves the construction of tiered seating on the north-west side of the oval, including 800 seats.
It also includes upgrading to AFL standard player interchange and player support staff areas that are ground side, with 50 seats.
This will allow the Kingston Twin Ovals to be considered for more AFL team participation in the future.
Tigers FC have engaged local designer G Hills & Partners Architects and Southside Constructions/Adam Hunt Builders to complete the project.
This stage of the facility development has been made possible by the State Government via Community Sport and Recreation and will compliment a similar upgrade two years ago involving the twin mini grand-stands, also assisted by the State Government.
